ABOUT ME

I was born in Culiacán the capital of Sinaloa, a northwest state of Mexico. I am the fourth of a family of five kids, I grew up in a big nice family in a very hot city with a summer of 50 degrees Celsius. As an average kid, I went to the schools near my hometown. Since I was a kid, I usually like the mathematics and physic, however, it was the influence of my elder brother and sister who made me decide to join a physics career.

From 2002 to 2007, I studied for Bachelor degree at “Facultad de Ciencias Fisico-Matematicas” of “Universidad Autonoma de Sinaloa” (UAS). There, I received a strong formation in mathematics and physics. In 2006 and 2007, I went as a summer student to the physics department of “Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzandos del Instituto Politécnico Nacional” (CINVESTAV), unity Zacatenco, Mexico City, Mexico. During my stay with Dr. Ricardo López Fernández, I started to work in the area of High Energy Physics. In August of 2007, I obtained my bachelor degree in physics, some days later, I began my studies of Master of Science at Department of Physics at CINVESTAV. In 2008, I became a summer student in Dzero Collaboration at the Fermi National Laboratory in U.S.A. In the end of 2009, I presented my Master thesis at CINVESTAV. Since I was working as a summer student, I had the proposal to develop my PhD in Particle Accelerator Physics, area which was under developing in Mexico at that time. It was in autumn of 2009, I had my first contact with the international accelerator community, I attended two accelerator schools: “4th International Accelerator School for Linear Colliders” and “CERN Intermediate Accelerator Physics”.

In August of 2010, I started my PhD at CINVESTAV, at the same time, I finished a research stay at CERN with Dr. Frank Zimmerman in the proyect of "Studies of machine protections for failures of Crab Cavities in the LHC". This topic became my thesis work later. From September of 2011 to November of 2013, I developed my PhD research at CERN. During my PhD, I attended seminars at CERN and CINVESTAV and took several Accelerator schools (US- PAS, JAS, CAS, ILC). In parallel, I did a research stay at Centro de Investigaciones Energeticas Medioambientales y Tecnologicas (CIEMAT) in Madrid, Spain, working in the “shimming magnet” for the compact cyclotron. This project was developed in collaboration with Dr. Felix Javier Barrio De Miguel and Dr. Diego Obradors Campos. In addition, at CINVESTAV with Dr. Ricardo López Fernández, we are working in a small project using an electron gun of 10 KeV, the main goal is to obtain experience in hardware. In the summer of 2014, I worked with Dr. John Byrd at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and I made simulations of APEX Cavity to work in the problem of the dark current and measurements of the longitudinal beam profile in the ALS using a Streak Camera. In December of 2014, I obtained my PhD degree.

Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at The High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) from 2015 to 2017. Additionally, I am a member of Scientific Committee to develop the “Center of Excellence in Nuclear Medical Physics”(Centro de Excelencia en Fisica Medica Nuclear) in collaboration with the Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla (BUAP), in Puebla, Mexico
